Baptist Distinctions

The Bible is the final authority for our principles and practices.
Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone.
Baptism is the voluntary immersion of a believer in Christ to symbolically show what Christ has done for him.
The Lord’s Supper is symbolic of the elements that are a representation of Jesus’ body and blood.
A church should be composed of only professed believers who have been baptized according to the Scripture.
Each church is self-governing and democratic under the command of the Head, Jesus Christ.

Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Frank Robinson, Jr.

Our beloved Pastor has shared with the Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church as its first and only Pastor. He has dedicated a huge portion of his life in service to our Lord and Savior in the vineyard. A few notes to introduce you to this dynamic man of God:

Loving husband of Carol Robinson. They have three children, five precious grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
In December 1979, Brother Robinson preached his trial sermon and was licensed to preach the gospel. This led to his ordination in January 1983.
Pastor Robinson holds an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Union Baptist Seminary School of Theology; graduate of Southern Baptist Seminary; attended William Tyndale College; and Certified Dean from the Division of Christian Education Accreditation & Credentials (DCEAC), an extension of the Christian education ministry of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.
Our Pastor serves in varies leadership capacities and has community affiliations which include:

Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship of Detroit and Vicinity;

Westside Ministers Alliance;

Wolverine State Missionary Baptist Convention;

Congress President of Crystal Lake Missionary Baptist District Association;

DCEAC Certified Instructor;

Founder of Immanuel Bible Institute Christian Leadership School

Our Pastor

About Our Church & History

On November 18, 1984, our church was established as a mission in the basement of Pastor and Sister Robinson’s home located at 20275 Forrer Street, Detroit, Michigan. Rev. Robinson served as the Mission’s Superintendent, and the membership included Sister Robinson and their children along with four of Pastor’s sisters and their children.

On January 20, 1985, Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church was formally organized at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Frank Robinson, Jr. was elected Pastor.
On July 21, 1985, the church was able to purchase its first building a storefront located at 13019 Puritan Ave., Detroit, Michigan.
On April 24, 1994, the Lord blessed us again and we moved to our current house of worship located at 4438 Rosa Parks Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan.

OUR MINISTRIES

The harvest is ready and there is room for everyone to share their unique God-given gifts in ministry and service. In keeping with the church motto “Building a Community to Build a Community,” Immanuel Bible Institute Christian Leadership School opened on May 16, 2005. The school is accredited by the Division of Christian Education Accreditation and Credentials of the Sunday School Publishing Board, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. The Dr, Frank Robinson, Jr. Scholarship Fund was created to further equip our members with the tools to effectively serve the community.

As our Pastor ministers the Word, we are equipped for the work of the ministry and uplifted as members of the body in Christ Jesus. In addition to Deacons and Trustees, we have the following Ministries:
